KICI-LP is a low power FM station serving the Iowa City, Iowa, area. In response to decreasing sources of local media, our mission is to help meet the need for accessible, local media that will provide information about the area’s civic, government, social and cultural affairs; offer intelligent and entertaining programming from local, national and international sources; and provide public information, weather alerts, and emergency safety information.
Our members have significant professional or professional-level broadcasting experience, and a serious interest in community affairs. Our governing board is the Board of Extend the Dream Foundation, Inc. In keeping with Extend The Dream’s mission, as well as the vision of the initial organizing group, this project will include programming and opportunities for folks with disabilities and the community at large.
